Undisclosed Client, Project 2
This project was the second project developed by 2WR/MJ12 for this undisclosed client. The site was located less than a half a mile from the first project.
The project is approximately 26,000 square feet. The main structure is a pre- engineered metal building with IMP walls and roofing. The mechanical room, which houses the gas-fired chillers and boiler, is conventional steel. The facility’s vision was to design for cultivation operations only. Drying would take place in this new facility with trimming and all downstream operations addressed in the original facility. Thereby, the vision focused on maximizing the flower canopy within the new 26,000 sq ft building while adhering to the project’s stipulated schedule and budget.
Cultivation includes single-tier benching in mother, veg, and flower. Propagation is 3-tier. The mechanical system is gas-fired chillers with ground mounted air-handling
units. Each 2,800 sq ft flower room is provided with two 60-ton AHUs; thereby 120-tons per room. HPS lighting was utilized in the original design with the fixture layout conforming to the Massachusetts Energy Code.
During the development of this project, I was a Senior Principal and Founding Partner of
2WR / MJ12. My role in the project was the Architect of Record. Beyond maintaining responsible control over project and document development, my direct responsibilities included programming, conceptual design, team coordination, and construction administrative services.
